About
Slow Food Madison is the chapter of the international Slow Food organization that serves Madison Wisconsin and the surrounding region.
100% Volunteer Powered
Slow Food Madison is entirely volunteer driven, by passionate people like you. Together, we produce events, field-trips, tastings, workshops, classes, and other celebrations to teach one-another and share in the pleasure of Good, Clean, and Fair Food.
Madison was one of the very first local chapters in the USA, and is now one of 1300 chapters in 163 countries world-wide.
Good, Clean, and Fair
At all levels, the Slow Food movement promotes Good, Clean, and Fair food for all.
Good: A fresh and flavorsome seasonal diet that satisfies the senses and is part of our local culture;
Clean: Food production and consumption that does not harm the environment, animal welfare, or our health;
Fair: Accessible prices for eaters and fair conditions and pay for small-scale producers.
