Slow Food Chicago farm work day

Saturday, September 7th 11:00am until 3:00pm

Join Slow Food Chicago for a “Slow Food mob” at Tiny Tempest Farm, located just north of the Illinois/Wisconsin state line in Lake Geneva, WI. This three-year-old farm grows organic vegetable, herb, and flower seedings (primarily for home gardeners), fresh cut culinary herbs, eggs, and other products, and offers theatrical events in their rustic dairy barn during the spring and fall.  You can see more about the Farm at their Facebook page.

Slow Food Chicago is sponsoring this event to help Tiny Tempest with a variety of heavy and light tasks, including building a compost heap, maintaining the structures for their goats and chickens, weeding, and cleaning out the seedling trays. Volunteers will be provided with beverages and snacks, a short tour of the farm (including the theater), and friendly goats to pet! Visitors should bring their own lunch, gloves, a blanket to sit on, a hat and sunscreen, and a shovel (if possible). Please do not bring your pets!
