Slow Food UW Cafe
The goal is for customers and volunteers to learn about the people and places we get our food from, and to discover the positive community impact of a café where students prepare fresh food using ingredients from farmers in South Central Wisconsin. The menu is planned by our team of cooks and suppliers who research the seasonality of what Madison farmers have to offer. The kitchen team brings in a variety of skills that stem from home cooking in their personal kitchens, to fantasizing about recipes in food blogs and also hard work in many of Madison’s established restaurants. The suppliers work with local farmers at all of Madison’s farmers’ markets, the Willy Street Coop and community members.
