Ongoing Projects
We have a handful of ongoing projects. These are events that typically happen once a month, and offer lots of ways to jump in, engage with your food shed, meet some other passionate eaters, and even volunteer.
Madison Sweet Potato Project
Slow Food Madison is one of the primary sponsors and members of this community effort to help community members grow sweet potatoes in their backyards, community lots, and fields for donating sweet potatoes to local food pantries. more…
Urban Market Forage

Partnership with the Fritz Food Pantry
Each week Slow Food Madison volunteers team up with volunteers from the Madison Caribbean Association to cook a healthy, delicious meal for the customers of the Fritz Food Pantry at the Goodman Community Center. In the future, we plan to get involved in more aspects of the pantry. more…
Farm Field Trips
Monthly, Slow Food Madison and friends carpool and caravan to one of the Madison food-shed’s farmers, growers, or artisan producers for a tour and possibly other activities. more…
Networking Happy Hour
Slow Food Madison organizes a monthly happy hour to help connect Madisonians who are passionate about food and pursuing Good, Clean, and Fair food systems. more…
